After waiting until almost 2p.m., the Verizon tech comes to the door to tell us we have to wait until tomorrow to have a dial tone. Yesterday at about 4 we lost our dail tone. I called the phone company and they told me someone would visit on Sunday to take a look — between 8 and 5 :) The man at the door tells me he has to come back tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. If you are trying to call, you will be re-directed to the vox with a message that we are on the phone. Don’t let that fool ya, we are not on the phone. After it’s fixed I will put a request in for a refund of charges for the time missed. Not gonna hold my breath though.
I spent several hours experimenting with Amazon Web Services yesterday. We do most of our shopping online so Black Friday
is not a big day for us.I have been working on a couple of projects with AWS. If you have any interest in such things, you can read more.
There is no denying this was a dificult Thanksgiving, but…I still have so much to be thankful for:
Thank you Lord for the many blessings in my life.
I shared some of my Dad’s favorite Scriptures in devotions yesterday. It was difficult to do. Someone had to pass me a box of tissues about half-way through. I had to ask someone to finish reading Psalm 34:1-8. It was worth it no matter how hard. Several people came to me to tell me how glad they were I shared. My father was an amazing man. I miss him very much.
I have just decided to switch from Blosxom to pyBlosxom. Mostly because I use Python in my classes. I like Perl a lot and I really like Blosxom, but I wanted to try this. Frankly, I did not think it would be this easy. In my experience, any Perl script I grabbed from the web has always worked more ‘forgivingly’ than any Python script. Now I just have to find (or write) the right plugins.I will not be moving old posts here.
